The year is 2021 and our society still has a problem talking about sex. SMDH!! As a result, many people have not learned how to properly have sex or even safe sex. We have generations of people who really believe the fallacies about sex and safe sex products. How many people really know how to use a condom so it doesn't break? How many people are wearing the correct size condom? How many women know how to put on a condom? How many people really believe the Magnum is the best condom on the market? Pat and Joe are from the Bible Belt of America, so they are very familiar with a sexual mis-education and the results. Tune in!!!

Over the years the word woke has gained a negative connotation and the idea of the conscious community has declined. This last week of our Mental Health Awareness Month, Joe and Pat breakdown Slavery, Racism, & Psychological Trauma. Many people wonder why black people in America are in the unique position of being a people who are powerful and capable of creating their own destiny, can still be negatively affected by slavery in 2021? African people were kidnapped and terrorized by Europeans for over 500 years, sustaining constant physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, and mental trauma, generation after generation. After legal slavery was ended, black Americans continued to experience trauma from white Americans. If we have experienced over 500 years of trauma, how long would it take to overcome the trauma. Also, can we accept the trauma but learn to excel as a group despite the trauma. Tune in to hear what they have to say.

Remember, August is Mental Health Awareness Month for the Freedom Train Network. We will be dedicating this month's podcasts to raising more awareness about mental health in the black community.
This week on the Freedom Train Podcast Series, Joseph and Patrick continue their discussions about mental health in the black community. This show focused on the recent mental health events surrounding Sha'Carri Richardson, Simone Biles, and Naomi Osaka. Sha'Carri Richardson was already dealing with a new level of national and Olympic popularity when she learned that her birth-mother passed away from a reporter during an interview. Simone Biles was the last competing victim of the Larry Nassar Olympic sexual assault case, and she was expected to carry the U.S. gymnastic team to gold. It is reported that she too was experiencing mental health problems. She was dealing with the "twisties" which could cause a gymnast to hurt themselves. Lastly, we covered Naomi Osaka choosing her mental health over being interviewed at the French Open. She is doing her best to manage her anxiety, but the interviews after her matches trigger her anxiety. All three of these ladies are expected to compete at a high level, but not many people are concerned about the mental health of these ladies. Tune in to hear more!!

The pandemic is weighing on the mental health of the nation, and it cannot be ignored. Tune in.
The 2021 Olympics are finally here, and for a number of black women their dreams were ripped from them. This week on the Freedom Train Podcast Series, Joe and Pat cover stories of at least six black women who were told they could not compete in the Olympics for various reasons. Aliyah Shipman, Caster Semenya, Christine Mboma and Beatrice Masilingi are four of the women being bullied by the Olympic committee. Is it because they are black? The gentlemen also talked about the recent assassination of Haiti's President Jovenel Moïse. Mr. Moise was gunned down on July 7th in his home by what is believed as hired mercenaries. Who were the mercenaries, who hired them, how did they gain access to the President's home, why wasn't the President's guards injured? these are just a few of the questions that need to be answered. Tune in!!
This week on the Freedom Train Podcast Series, Joseph & Patrick have a healthy discussion about the recent spread of the B.1.617.2 or the Delta variant of SARS-COV 2 COVID-19. In 2020, the Delta variant was found in India but has recently spread to the United States. According to the CDC, a number of Delta variant cases were found in Oklahoma, and was also located in other states across the US. The Delta variant is found to be more aggressive and large number of cases were linked to people who were not vaccinated. Patrick asked the question; should a person risk contracting COVID-19 and living with known long term issues, or should they risk taking the vaccine and risk unknown long term issues? They also discussed the current issues with the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. A number of Americans are upset with the Olympic committee, and some are even suggesting boycotting the Olympics because Sha'Carri Richardson will not be competing. The Olympics have banned swimmers from wearing the black owned Soul Caps during the games. At least two black female Olympic competitors are under scrutiny and may not compete against other women because of higher levels of natural testosterone. However, transwomen are allowed to compete against women in the same Olympics. Lastly, Joseph goes on a rant about black people being upset about the fight against CRT being taught in schools, but a good number of black people are not interested in learning black history to teach within their own homes. He is asking, why depend on your enemy to empower your child? Tune in to hear their thoughts!!!

Derrick Standifer is an author, a keynote speaker, and a Ph.D. candidate at the Florida A&M University (FAMU) whose primary focus is teaching people how to solve the twists and turns of life by solving the twists and turns of the Rubik’s Cube.
Growing up in impoverished neighborhoods and raised by a single mother, Derrick has learned how to transform his pain into power. Derrick dropped out of FAMU and flunked out of Georgia State University only to find himself waiting tables. After internalizing failure, he decided to bounce back from his trials and tribulations. Notwithstanding his academic accomplishments, Derrick is most proud of the fact that he did not quit. In 2014, he graduated with his bachelor’s degree and then with his master’s degree in 2016. Afterward, he began teaching and what was supposed to be a start to a beautiful career in education was instead met with misfortune. Sadly, he lost his mother to cancer a week before his 26th birthday, and then, his dad, “Coach Hill,” in 2019 from the same illness. Almost broken from grief, Derrick decided to use his life’s experiences to fuel his drive and commitment to serving mankind and womankind alike. “The people in my life invested in me, and they never let me pay it back, but they charged me to pay it forward. I intend to honor their legacies by using my gifts to serve.” Currently writing his dissertation to fulfill the requirements of obtaining a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Derrick has proven that failing does not mean you are a failure. When he is not writing and reading and researching, he takes great pride in being a full-time single father of two beautiful, trouble-making geniuses, Ayana and Derrick Jr.

Joe and Pat dig into the story and information to give their thoughts on why food deserts exist and how they can be eliminated. The second topic they covered is the Kwame Brown vs Boyce Watkins war of words. A few weeks ago Boyce Watkins streamed a video on YouTube talking about how Brown's channel could possibly be taken down. According to Boyce, he was trying to help Brown. The "help" wasn't received well which led to both of the men releasing videos responding to each other. Is it Boyce being messy or Kwame lacking understanding? Tune in to check it out!!!

April 15, 2021, Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law HB1 which many are viewing as the law to make protesting illegal in the state of Florida. The bill was said to be created as a response to the violence during the George Floyd protest. 10 minutes away from the location for George Floyd's murder, a young black man named Daunte Wright was murdered by former police officer Kim Potter. Potter claimed that she thought she pulled her taser but pulled her gun instead and killed Wright.
