Shortlisted for Granta magazine’s “Best of Young American Novelists,” Steven Dunn is the author of two novels from Tarpaulin Sky Press: water & power (2018) and Potted Meat, which was co-winner of the 2015 Tarpaulin Sky Book Prize and finalist for a Colorado Book Award. Steven was born and raised in West Virginia, and after 10 years in the Navy he earned a B.A. in Creative Writing from University of Denver. He is currently an MFA candidate at Goddard College.

This week Joe and Patrick interviewed Mrs. Kristin Jackson. Mrs. Jackson is a former Social Worker with a specialty in Adoption and Social and Emotional Learning. A mother of 3 children, 2 of whom were adopted, she also runs a Home School Co-opt in the Charlotte, North Carolina area focused on Literacy for Black Children of all ages and has children in her program from Elementary School to High School. She still advocates for and actively teaches Social and Emotional Learning in various programs throughout the city.
