On the episode of the Freedom Train Podcast Series we discussed the results of the meeting between Jim Brown and Donald Trump, is black feminism something positive for all the members of black America, and false narratives the help to further divide black men and women. We are all aware of the meeting between the long time civil rights legend Jim Brown and President Elect Donald Trump. Was this meeting necessary, and why are athletes and entertainers often chosen to represent Black America when discussing very important issues? Why do we allow outsiders to chose our leaders? We also discussed the damage false narratives can have on our community, we must learn to use research validate information before we take it as our gospel. Black America seems to continue repeating destructive and devisive patterns, will we ever learn from our history? Tune in to hear what we really think about the topics discussed.

Samori Swygert, a renaissance man of the times. He was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, New York.  A jack of many trades and master of some.  A self-described man of many passions.  Samori went to Hampton University and graduated with a bachelor in Biology(2001), stayed and also received his Master’s in Medical Science (2003), he then went to Howard University where he graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy (2007).

Currently and professionally, he’s a practicing intensive care unit pharmacist in a hospital.  Outside of the practice of pharmacy is where he truly flexes his mental muscles.  His last year of pharmacy school, Samori published a book of poetry entitled: Black I/Eye on America.  This book of poetry addresses many of the social injustices, double standard disparities between class and race.  The book also is an introspective tour of his own feelings on life and love, and where he fits in the universe.  He uses unique poetic techniques such as alliteration, and abbreviations to showcase his verbal prowess.

Samori released a #1 Best Selling album under the quiet storm category on Amazon in 2015.  The album is entitled: P.O.R.N. (Poetry. Oration. Rhythm. Narratives.).  This album is a breath of fresh air, some say that it’s the 21st century Love Jones Soundtrack.  P.O.R.N. is a mature, classy, sophisticated, grown and sexy, erotic masterpiece.  It is clinically proven to increase the birth rate, and stimulate intimacy in couples, while also visiting real introspective critique on how to love, and love ourselves.  This album is all original music with real instruments in the studio.  The music was made from a Hampton, Norfolk State, and Howard University production team.

Samori has also produced an audiobook entitled: Speak On IT, Mandatory Conversations for Black America.  He’s put out an underground mixtape called: The Reset Button.  Samori is regular blogger and contributor for Dr. Boyce Watkins Your Black World and Financial Juneteenth.  He’s currently working on 2 documentaries and board games.  This is a busy brother that is chasing life with a vengeance.
