What Can We Do to Make Politics Work for our Community?

Today on the Freedom Train Podcast Series Patrick Irvine and I had a poignant conversation about politics and Black America. Does Black America truly understand how to use politics to change the conditions of their communities? Do we truly understand the role economics play in the political process? Within our conversation we covered the possible solutions we could use to build political power as a group. Politics are a very useful tool for any group of people looking improve their conditions, as long as they understand how to use politics. We also talked about the importance of local voting; why is more importance and attention placed on the presidential elections rather than local elections? When a group of people understands the political process and has the economic backing to support their efforts, they can use politics to their advantage.
