Jasmine Paints Interview

I’m Jasmine Jackson but in the art world I’m Jasmine Paints. I’m a 26 year old full time visual artist/ creative located in Central Florida. I’m just a girl trying to make it in this world of art. I never thought I’d be a painter but I always knew I enjoyed creating. As a kid I watched a lot of shows like While You Were Out, and Trading Spaces, so I was always into interior decoration. My parents used to let me paint on my bedroom walls but I didn’t pick a canvas up until 2014. Now I paint on a little bit of everything.

In 2014 I moved into my first apartment and I really wanted to decorate but I didn’t want to spend hours shopping for home décor. I also wanted my apartment to be more personalized. I wanted friends to come and KNOW they were in MY apartment. I decided to fill my walls up with my own art and when I had friends over they would all be in awe of my work. They would all tell me “Jas, you should sell some of these! People would definitely buy your art!” At first I was hesitant and pushed the idea aside but I eventually started to sell them in 2015.
