What is Domestic Violence???? Domestic violence (also named domestic abuse, battering, or family violence) is a pattern of behavior which involves violence or other abuse by one person against another in a domestic setting, such as in marriage or cohabitation. Intimate partner violence is violence by a spouse or partner in an intimate relationship against the other spouse or partner. Domestic violence can take place inheterosexual and same-sex family relationships, and can involve violence against children in the family or, in some U.S. states, violence against a roommate.[1] Today we discussed the issue of domestic violence, the root of the issue and prevention methods we can take to stop future violence. We introduced our listeners to the concept of primary prevention and bystander intervention as methods to reduce domestic violence. We must remember that though most victims are women, we will focus on stopping violence against men and women. According to Safehorizion.org 1 in every 4 women and 1 in every 7 men will experience domestic violence in their lifetimes. Domestic violence is an issue that I want to solve. I also would like to make a project about it that will enable me to solve this problem. There are things that we needed to make in order to end the violence that is currently happening in our generation. There may be difficulties along the way but we must not stop there.
