In May of 2020, Mr. Cyrah Hawkins and his family were harassed by two officers on the Suisun City police force. A mistaken identity and a lack of proper information led to an incident between Mr. Hawkins and former officer Marler. In this interview, Mr. Hawkins will give us details about his unfortunate incident, and gives us tips on how the black community can rally around all victims of police harassment/violence. Cyrah Austin Hawkins (born March 3, 1984) is an African-American actor/dancer best known for booking 6 national commercials in his rookie acting career and working on the feature-film Safe House where he was privileged to with Denzel Washington (Tobin Frost) in a one-on-one scene. As a dancer, Hawkins has worked with several artists/groups, including, Ciara, Estelle, and Airborne Toxic Event to name a few. He was born in York, PA and raised in Atlanta, GA. With both parents serving in the US ARMY, Hawkins followed suit and joined the Florida Army National Guard as well as simultaneously joining FAMU's Army ROTC program. Hawkins possesses an eclectic set of military skills which he utilizes on several television series such as Louie, Sons of Anarchy and Children's Hospital. He graduated from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL in 2009 with a BA in Criminal Justice.
