On this episode of The Freedom Train Podcast Series, Joseph and Patrick have a candid conversation about why we are celebrating black women, and the importance of celebrating black women. For the month of May the Freedom Train Network will be honoring black women. From May 1st to May 31st a different black woman will be celebrated every day. They have also dedicated each show in the month of May to the celebration of black women. The gentlemen discussed the role black men has played and is currently playing in the degradation and empowerment of black women. Historically black women were viewed as powerful, yet, graceful beings who were second to none. After Africa and African people were ravished by Europe, Asia and other groups of invaders, kidnapped, enslaved and socially engineered, we are fighting to reclaim our spirit, history and culture. Patrick and Joseph hope that this conversation, and the interviews to follow in the upcoming weeks will spark more celebrations of black women and black culture. They also hope that the black community can create new cultural norms that empower our women on a regular basis. Tune in!!
