LftS: What is Mental Health

Despite great growth and understanding in the community and a force of urgency and conventions designed to de-stigmatize mental health in the community, old habits die hard. Mental health issues persist along with the stigmas surrounding them and people that seek mental health services. To some degree even people that work in the mental health field face a level of stigma and negative association. Things are changing but that change seems to be moving at a snail's pace, especially when compared to what is needed in the community.

This week on Lessons from the Screen we will not be taking the traditional angle with regards to mental health, that angle being focusing on all the ailments and potential services. We will be focusing on what mental health actually means, what does it mean to be mentally healthy. we feel like the mental health conversation can’t be had until this simple narrative is understood. In this Episode we will be answering a simple question, what is mental health.
