This past weekend of January 20th to January 22nd we saw our government shut down. With congress failing to to pass a Continuing Resolution that would have continued government funding for another month, the nation experienced its 19th funding gap in roughly 30 years. 2 programs and a campaign promise have been attached to this issue, none of which had anything directly to do with the Continuing Resolution itself, as the shutdown served as a wakeup call for just how polarized the American Nation has become. This weeks episode of Lessons from the Screen we will be talking about the 2018 government shutdown. We will dig into the history of shutdowns, the reasoning behind this shutdown, and as always things that we can learn from it as a community.
